I am Cameron Williamson, a young artist that has had a passion for drawing and creating artistic work from a young age. I have had a passion for creating characters and drawing self portraits for as long as I can remember. I often spent my childhood lunchtimes creating my own super hero league characters and drawing at any chance I could get.
As I grew older and my passion for art flourished, after taking 3 art qualification throughout school and learning lots of skills and receiving constructive guidance throughout school, I decided to take up art at Westwood art college in Scarborough. I spent 2-3 months at the college and enjoyed being around art on a day to day basis but due to influential figures and my own financial hunger, I was convinced that leaving college to get a 'proper' job would be my best route I spent the next 8 months studying mechanics and due to my natural ability to learn quickly and common sense I picked mechanics up fairly quickly and soon found myself at the local 'sweet spot' job as a Coach mechanic.
Throughout my days as a coach mechanic, I often felt suffocated due to the shear lack of work and spent my spare time sat in the back of a coach sketching on scruffy pieces of paper using stubby pencils, drawing anything that came to mind to keep me occupied. I would often draw my own hand from life and improve my skills in proportion, shade and realism. If not I would sketch smalls characters such as chimps smoking cigars and Captain Combat - a childhood creation of mine. I believe that naively dropping art at college for a big wage packet and a job for life that made my parents proud was the biggest mistake I ever made. I hope to correct it by further studying my passion of art and animation at university.
Although my skill set in animation isn't where I'd prefer it to be, I am currently learning and taking guidance from a very talented friend of mine and using my own initiative to work on some future projects. With the right guidance and resources I believe that using my creative mind could really create something special and original. I hope you can take my art work into consideration and give me the chance to show you what I can do.
